The Peak District National Park was established in 1951 to protect the special landscapes amongst the southern end of the Pennines and is managed by the Peak District National Park Authority.The policies affecting a potential development site in the area are found in the adopted Local Plan, the National Planning Policy Framework, and, if relevant, the neighbourhood plan.
