The Dorset AONB was established in 1959 to protect the special landscapes within Dorset. The Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is managed by the Dorset AONB Partnership and Dorset County Council Planning. The policies affecting a potential development site in the Dorset AONB are found in the adopted Local Plan, the National Planning Policy Framework, and, if relevant, the neighbourhood plan (not all locations are covered by a neighbourhood plan).
Planning Applications & Appeals
We can prepare, submit, and manage a planning application or an appeal on your behalf. Our planning consultants will address the local and national planning policies relevant to the development, prepare the plans and other documents required to gain planning permission, and manage the application or appeal through to its completion.
Planning Drawings & Documents
Planning drawings and supporting reports are required when a planning application or appeal is submitted. We can draft site plans, location plans, floor plans, elevations, and other architectural drawings, and we can also prepare supporting reports such as design and access statements, visual appraisals, and heritage statements.
Planning Appraisals
Prior to preparing an application or appeal, we will carry out an assessment of the application site and the proposed development and provide advice about the acceptability of any proposal. Please contact us if you would like us to provide a planning appraisal detailing the acceptability of a development proposal.
